A mini interview with one of our beloved, long-time team members, Martin Matějka.
How long have you been with Keboola and what’s your job?
Since 2014. At first, I've been helping our customers with Keboola Connection integrations, now I'm handling internal tools, data and telemetry. I'm a data engineer.
What is your favorite thing about working at Keboola?
Freedom. In every aspect - to speak up, in workload/time management, to work from anywhere...
What does your job look like on a daily basis?
I'm planning weekly sprints, so I mainly work on the tasks to be done during the current sprint. Usually in the afternoon, I'm checking the Internal Support System (which is an interface for other Keboola people to communicate with "my" Internal Data team) to see if someone needs help or if there is some issue with the internal data to be fixed/investigated. Besides that, there can also be some ad hoc unplanned important tasks to be done to spice things up. :)
What Keboola customer do you think everyone should visit or learn about?
Rohlík.cz - their business and processes are heavily based on the data and they have been using Keboola Connection since the beginning with great success.
If you could give someone in your job area career advice, what would that be?
Just don't be afraid to try new things, then keep and honor the one job you love.
Is there anything else you want to add about Keboola or the team?
Even though the Keboola team has grown quite a lot since 2014, the friendly and personal approach inside the company remains the same.
